"Riley Rose"

Updated: Jul 17, 2023

You walk into the room

With your wavy red hair and moody blue eyes

Your pouty lips and vanilla hips will get you in the door

But let's open your heart and find out a little more

Your classy trench coat is tan

And you're looking for your brown eyed man

You're a sexy little cat and can drive the men crazy

But the details of the night tend to get a little hazy

You're playing the game because you want to belong

But your loneliness takes over and you forget that you're strong

The longing inside takes on many a form and your mind goes places way outside the norm

Oh Riley Rose - just give us all a break

The world was always there for you to take

You couldn't calm down and find the right time

But you could drink with losers who would drop a dime

You can talk about the world and tune into their story

But if the hook isn't there, time to assess the inventory

You're the smart girl who can't seem to simmer down

You have moments of shining brightly in a spectacular way

But then fuck it all up in your day to day

When you can't afford rent, you can't afford Clinique - are we clear my bronze eye shadow dear?

You have a new verse for your survival serenade

You're still out there grinding and you're still getting paid

Get out of your head

The past is dead

When you tap into your beautiful core

You can stop your dreams from hitting the floor

One day you will be content and realize that the vampires don't deserve a space in your head

And will you really miss them when they're dead?

You're looking for the hot bad boy with the great job who wishes you well

I've also got some swampland in Florida that I'd like to sell

How long are you going to search all over the land

Before you realize that your happiness is right there where you stand
